Welcome

First Time Visitors

Welcome to First Presbyterian Church of Maumee!

Our congregation, church staff, and pastors are excited that you will be joining us Sunday in worship!

Please take a few minutes to read through these Frequently Asked Questions and answers to help you before making your first trip to our church campus. If you have additional questions, please call the church office at 419-893-0223 or email staff@fpcmaumee.org

Q: What time do you worship?

A.: Worship is held three times on Sunday mornings: 8 a.m. in the Chapel, 9 a.m. in Fellowship Hall and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

Q: How long is the worship service?

A: Each worship service lasts about 60 minutes.

Q: What is the worship service at First Presbyterian like?

A: Each of our three services is unique, but share the same pastor’s message.

The 8 a.m. service is held in the Chapel and features organ music as well as spirituals played on guitar. During this service worshippers share "joys and concerns," so that they may be attune to one another's lives.

The 9 a.m. service in Fellowship Hall is contemporary and includes a praise band with electric guitars and drum set. The multi-sensory service also includes videos that are projected on screens.

The 11 a.m. service in the Sanctuary is a vibrant, traditional Presbyterian service with organ music, choirs and hymns.

Q: What do I wear?

A: The answer varies by service, but it’s best to dress as you would feel most comfortable. We have worshippers who dress up more for church and others who dress more casual.

Q. Where will my young children go during the worship service?

A: The nursery is currently located in the Narthex of the Sanctuary on the main floor, which features a playroom and care facilities for our youngest children (infants through Pre-K). They are supervised by a paid professional during the three worship services.

We are currently undergoing rennovations, and in the late winter or early spring of 2012, a new nursery room will be opened on the main floor.

Young children are also welcome to stay in each service and worship.

Q: Where is First Presbyterian located?

A: First Presbyterian Church of Maumee is located at 200 E. Broadway, Maumee, Ohio, 43537, along the banks of the Maumee River. We are conveniently located for anyone wanting to attending from Maumee, Perrysburg, South Toledo, Waterville, Holland, Springfield Township and beyond.

Q: Where do I park?

A: The parking lot is located behind the church campus off Gibbs Street. Parking is also available on the streets located around the church, especially Gibbs and Broadway. During construction, we will not have access to the core of the building so it is recommended to park in the regular lot behind the church or on Broadway (wheel-chair accessible entrance) for the Edge and Sanctuary services, and off of Gibbs street or on Broadway for the Chapel service.

When activity is planned at Union, those who have trouble climbing stairs should use the back, Harrison St. parking lot and entrance. There is a ramp at door 9 that will give you access to the cafeteria where much of our activity will take place. Unfortunately, the church offices will be on the 2nd floor accessible by steps from both the front and rear parking lots. If accessibility is an issue for you and you would like to meet with any of our staff please give us a call at 419-893-0223 and we will find an appropriate place to meet.

Q: What if I have more questions when I get to First Presbyterian?

A: A Deacon shepherd and greeter are positioned to welcome all to worship at each service. They could answer your questions or find someone who could. Or ask a pastor. You’ll find that the people of First Presbyterian are friendly and helpful.
