Confirmation

Confirmation and Commissioning is a special time in the lives of the youth at First Presbyterian Church of Maumee. It is a time when the youth are invited to confirm the vows their parents made for them at baptism and for others it is a time when they decide to profess their faith and be baptized.

Youth in grades 7-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend the faith journey and continue to grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ.

Mentors from the congregation also play an important role in the confirmation process. They meet one-on-one with their youth assignee and explain specific topics that help guide and encourage the youth as they write their statements of faith and make decisions about their faith. More importantly, mentors and youth develop rewarding relationships that help both grow in their faith and more clearly define who they already are –vital members of God’s family.
