Domestic Missions

First Presbyterian Church of Maumee is actively involved in mission work in Maumee, Northwest Ohio, and within the U.S., as members young and old continue to seek service opportunities.

In partnership with other local churches, FPC Maumee has completed seven Habitat for Humanity home builds in the greater Toledo area. Click here to meet the homeowners from the 2008 BUMA Build.

Volunteers regularly prepare and serve meals to the homeless at St. Paul’s Community Center in downtown Toledo. The church also provides temporary housing and meals to the homeless from Family Promise, whose mission is to help the homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence.

Five days a week, an Alcoholics Anonymous group utilizes the church for its support and recovery meetings.

Each summer, church volunteers attend the Migrant Health Fair in Delta, OH and assist with health screenings and packing personal hygiene kits.

Also in the summer, the youth group and its leaders travel to a Group Workcamps site for a week to grow in their faith and serve others.

At the holidays, the church collects and distributes food baskets for families in needeach Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Also at Christmas, the church collects shoeboxes for children in need overseas through Operation Christmas Child.
